Charles Capps studied art at the Chicago Adademy of Fine Arts and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. He was a member of the Prairie Print Makers Association, the California Print Makers, The Society of American Etchers, the Philadelphia and Chicago Society of Etchers. He was a winner of numerous prizes in the 1930's. He served as president of the Prairie Print Makers Association for twenty-three years. Capps created about eighty prints, half were his aquatints and a third of that total are his etchings and drypoints. Capps works are held internationally in various museums and art institutes. A founding member of the Prairie Print Makers Association.
